Chef Kellie

Chef Kellie is a professional chef and Chef Instructor.  She is a graduate of Diablo Valley College’s Culinary Arts program and The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York.  Her resume includes working in hotels such as Hilton in Concord, Hyatt & Ramada in Washington D.C.  She’s worked under Chef Beat Giger (Pebble Beach Resorts) and Chef Wolfgang Puck (Wolfgang Puck Restaurants) where she cooked for numerous celebrities and political dignitaries.  She was a Food Safety & Training Consultant for Jamba Juice, Peets Coffee & Tea, McDonalds and Boudin Bakery.  She was Operations Training Manager for Chevys Fresh Mex where she traveled the country training employees for new restaurant openings as well as help failing restaurants succeed, like the show “Kitchen Nightmares”!

In 2001 she became a culinary educator.  She taught cooking classes at Tante Maries Cooking School in San Francisco and Mt. Diablo Adult Education.  In 2002 she became founder and chef instructor of Monte Vista Culinary Academy, http://www.youtube.com/user/Chefgrrl27https://www.facebook.com/pages/Monte-Vista-Culinary-Academy/158257855406,  where she taught Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management  to over 150  students each year!  Throughout the years, Chef Kellie has taught over 2,000 students from ages 8 to 80 including Olympic Gold Medal swimmer and Lafayette resident, Natalie Coughlin!  Many of Chef Kellie’s graduates went on to pursue careers in the hospitality industry!  Chef Kellie has taught at Diablo Valley College as well as Sur La Table.

In 2010, Chef Kellie became Chef/Owner of Chicks and Love https://www.facebook.com/chicksandlove  Hand crafted organic flatbread pizza Catering.  Chicks and Love  has been at the Sunday Walnut Creek Farmers’ Market for 10 years.  Chicks and Love also at the San Ramon Farmers Market, Danville Farmers Market as well as the Orinda Farmers Market.

In 2014 Chef Kellie became Chef/ Owner of Souper Chick. Hand crafted vegan and gluten free nutrient dense soups.  A private Soup Club for members only.

Chef Kellie operated  Chicks and Love Pizza Patio in the Mission District in San Francisco 2016-2018.

In 2018 Chef Kellie started her latest  Queen of Crusts.  A home delivery pizza business specializing in small batched handcrafted flatbread Take N Bake pizzas, Pizza Kits, Flatbread Crusts.  Families can enjoy fresh hot crispy thin crust pizzas in the comforts and safety of their own homes.

Chef Kellie spends her free time as a Foodie Enthusiast.  She loves adventures in search of that specialty food truck, farm or restaurant.  She closely follows food trends and food culture, and is always open to learn new ways of eating, cooking, and teaching about sustainability with safe, organic, locally grown and humanely raised food. She enjoys entertaining, meeting new people and socializing with friends and family.  She was chosen to be a participant on a reality Food Network tv show; however after much deliberation, it was in her best interest to pass on that particular show.

In 2015 she received her certification in Health Coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  Through her teaching, she inspires those interested in attaining healthier, happier, sustainable and fulfilling lives.
